Lead by the NGO Solidarity France Nepal (SFN), the True Nepal project aims to promote a new kind of trekking in small traditional Nepalese villages. As mountaineers, we read the stories of Herzog and Sir Edmund Hillary early on and Nepal was always a dream destination on our minds. However, after having done the Annapurna and Langtang treks, and climbed mount Cho Oyu, we felt that if the mountains were indeed the most beautiful we had ever seen, the number of lodges and the lack of real villages made the human experience disappointing. As we stepped out of the usual paths, we discovered rural Nepal, where the culture, the spirituality and the natural hospitality of the people are totally preserved.

The main goal of this blog is for us to share our experience, so that you will be the next one to get away from the Annapurna or Everest Base Camp Trail and try a bit less comfortable but much more rewarding adventure. Believe us, we consider True Nepal to be the one the richest human and spiritual experience of our life. Now, it’s time for you to follow our steps. Let the travel begin!

reviens juste du trek, c’est calme et joli et les gens sont incroyables… ca vaut vraiment le coup, surtout apres un trek classique et un sejour a thamel!
